I didn’t like it before I stopped eating coagulated cow lactate.

No, but I’ve gotten plenty of 2nd hand smoke…

No, though I do admit being interested in going to a shooting range. For being a peace loving, tree hugging vegan that is kinda off. Maybe it is the Purry County still left in me?

4. What flavor Kool Aid was your favorite?

I like how this question says “was” because I don’t drink it much anymore. I have to say, the orange Kool Aid with the peach schnapps and all that sugar was tasty.

5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?

Sometimes I’m afraid I’m a mild hypochondriac… (See the irony in that?)

6. What do you think of hot dogs?

I didn’t like them until shortly before becoming a vegan. Go figure.

Something that tastes good.

No and that is something I should work on.

I really like my wedding and engagement rings. I have a whole bunch of necklaces but none of them are my favorite.

I’m going to go with writing. Of all my hobbies it has been my constant, even though the medium changes. (Novels to blogging to web sites to comics to etc)

It really isn’t too big of a worry, but I do wonder: Will tomorrow’s dress hunting go well?

Life is too short for hate.

Anywhere I feel happy and productive, even if it is just hanging out with friends, playing games with Neil, or writing in my Palm on the bus.

Animal Crossing. With wine. Which makes me think… We should really go check up on that town.

Olivia. It’s the name of little girl mouse from The Great Mouse Detective and it’s just stuck as my favorite.

31. Favorite boy’s name?

Zander. I had a dream that I gave birth to Neil’s son and we named him Zander-Ewan.

So now you know why the kids in Blenderman are named Zander and Olivia… OOPS! We haven’t introduced Zander yet. SPOILER!

Two. We only use one right now.

Everyone… Don’t Forget to be Awesome

One of the best feelings I get as a vegan chef is when I can take non-animal ingredients and recreate something that I used to eat as an omnivore. Today was actually a bit simple. I just wanted to make a “hamburger helper” style dish. Elbow macaroni was cooked. Mushrooms and onions were sliced than sautéed. Tomato sauce was seasoned. It was all quite simple and came out fabulous. However, the full meal, as tastey as it was, is not the real reason I am so happy about tonight’s time in the kitchen.

Thank God, I was able to make BOCA ground crumbles taste good for once. I think they be may be even yummy enough for an omnivore!

So this idea of the kind of home I want to live in works against seventeen or so years of stuff-collection training. Over the years I’ve come to realize that I have lots of stuff that I don’t need and that a bunch of it would be better off in someone else’s hands. My reading collection that at one point filled the shelves of my bedroom to almost fearsome (for they were right above my bed as a child) capacities has been tampered down. Clothes rotate out of my closet to go to second hand stores and I try to not fill my hangers up again just as fast (with more clothes from second hand stores…) My kitchen has a “can live without” box to remove clutter from under or never used gadgets. (I hope this will also find it’s way to second hand stores or charities.)

Other things have changed, too. I have found a particular fondness in downloading my computer games instead of having to deal with leftover boxes and paper manuals. I often shop iTunes for music. Why fill up my office with CDs when I can fill up the space on my hard drive?

Now in my current home of tall ceilings and lovely amounts of windows things feel a bit more balanced. I still have plenty of stuff, but one day I hope to be clutter free and that I will live up 100% to the idea of “Don’t buy it unless it has a place.”

At any rate, it does prep us for the possibility of eventual replacement of cashiers with robots. I can imagine the Walmart of the future. You’ll see at least 50 cash registers, all maned by identical cheerful blonds with perfect teeth, blue eyes and immaculate “make up”. They will also have a lovely figure toped of with not too big, but pert, breasts. Skin shades and hair styles may change by location depending on what “guests” respond the best to the idea will probably stay the same. Other than a science and sociology perfected “hello”, she won’t respond unless spoken to. That is until you reach the point of money exchange, and even then her tones and words will have also been run and tested to provoke the best response from a customer.

The more I think about that, the more it sounds like someone’s wet dream. Personally, I really hope we don’t evolve the shopping experience into that.
